Are you READY TO ROCK?

Feast your eyes on this green eyed monster! I was lucky enough to be given the opportunity to shoot this Mustang RTR. I even got to drive it! Having never been “that fussed” about modern American Muscle cars, this one caught me completely off guard. This is how a Mustang should look/sound/drive. There is something to be said about this 600bhp in a Ford. The insane power with completely normal and familiar surroundings in the cabin. It is like inviting a serial killer round for coffee – completely relaxing but at any moment, it could all get too exciting. A BIG thanks (or high five) to Vaughn for lending the car to Monster and for them to let Fueltopia shoot it.

Big Block Burnout T-Shirt

Recognise that picture? the one on the t-shirt? No? Well it is this one:
Up In SmokeWhich is from the shoot A Date with a Dragster which was done just about a year ago! Well the lads at Fueltopia liked it so much they put it onto a t-shirt! (Which you can buy from here)

Anyway a bit about the photo itself…
Big Block Burnout TeeWell that background is 100% real. None of it is photoshop! I used smoke pellets for this, you can get some from Amazon. This is something that I have been wanting to try out for a long time and I really happy with the results, it is such an easy way to get a dynamic background, knowing how well they work and how easy they are to use, I will be using them again in the future for sure!

To light this scene I used my trusty 28″ Westcott Apollo Softbox which was camera right. Inside it was a Canon 430EX II at 1/8th power. Behind me I had a Yongnuo YN460 II at 1/16th power which was fired bare. I triggered the flashes with my Hahnel Combi TF triggers which I wrote about in this post. The camera was a Canon 5DMkIII with a Canon 50mm f/1.4 USM lens at f/2.8 ISO100 and 1/200th of a second.
